Neighbor’s Rainwater
When homes are constructed in close proximity on a sloping grade, with the subject property positioned below the neighboring home. Surface runoff and roof drainage from the higher property may flow toward and collect near the subject home’s foundation, particularly during heavy or prolonged rainfall. Concentrated water near the foundation can contribute to saturated soil, erosion, moisture intrusion, differential movement, and foundation damage. Conditions during dry weather may not reveal the full extent of drainage activity. Recommend evaluation during rainfall and correction as needed by a Grading / Drainage Contractor and/or Qualified Gutter Contractor to direct water away from the foundation.
